Terms & Conditions of Hire

 

  • If the customer requires the skip to be on the highway, Kirkby Skips Ltd will NOT be held responsible for any damage caused but not limited to private property, walls, driveway, grass verge, pavements, footpath, gates, railings, trees, telephone wires, satellite dish, broadband/ phone box, during the delivery or collection, this is at owner’s risk.
  • If a customer directs a vehicle delivering or collecting the skip to leave the public highway he shall indemnify us in respect of any loss, costs, claims, damages, or expenses we may hereby sustain whether as the result of personal injury or as a result of damage to the vehicle itself or to the property of the customer or third parties.
  • Once landed the skip must NOT be moved. The driver puts the skip in a safe place for it to be picked up. Full responsibility and liability will be to the hirer if the skip is moved.
  • It is down to the hirer to be there when the skip is being delivered, if you require the skip to be moved it will incur additional cost.
  • If the skip is on the road, Grass verge, run up to the drive, public parking bay, the skip will require a permit from the council which incurs a permit cost.
  • Overloaded skips will not be collected and will incur wasted journey costs.
  • No fires are to be lit in the skip under any circumstances. The cost of repairing and repairs for damage to be charged to the customer.
  • The following materials are Not accepted in a skip unless prior arrangement with the office subject to extra cost:
  • Asbestos/ Hazardous Waste
  • Carpet / Carpet Tiles/ Ceiling Tiles
  • Flooring Waste/ Lino/ Vinyl
  • Fluorescent Tubes/ Bulbs
  • Gas Cylinders
  • Paint/ Paint Tubs/ Liquids
  • Plasterboard
  • Roofing Felt
  • Rubber
  • Tyres
  • Wet Concrete must not be poured into the skip. Costs will occur for removal.
